Structure

Library

 The school has a well-equipped, and computerized library, with over 5,000 books, which are added to, continually. To inculcate good reading habits, a library period is a part of the time-table. The library also provides teachers with a wide range of reference books, encyclopedia, journals, newspapers to enrich their classroom activities and knowledge.

The Library is equipped with a screen and a projector for audio-visual and power point presentations. Well known writers are invited to read from their work through out the year.

All new books are arranged on a display table in the library for a month and reviews put up on the Notice Board. Our specially trained Librarian is available during school hours to guide students.

To encourage the reading habit, a special podium has been provided for children to read aloud passages from their favorite books.

For 'the theme weeks', the Librarian picks out relevant books from the shelves and displays them. For example, for the Self-Discovery week s/he takes out artists who have done self-portraits and also autobiographies.

We are also in the process of developing mini-libraries in the classrooms.

Vocational Guidance

We are conscious that our obligation to the students does not end with teaching the curriculum and that we must prepare them for the next stage of their lives. Whether it be higher academic education at a college or university, in Nepal or overseas, a career in a profession in the services, business and industry or even in sports, media, performing and fine arts.

Aptitude tests are conducted at regular intervals to assist students in making choices to the process. Our in-house counselors work in close co-ordination with both the students and their parents to identify inclinations and aspirations.

Medical Care

The school has its visiting Pediatrician, who visits the school occasionally.

A routine medical check-up is conducted for every child and intimation is sent to the parents if remedial measure needs to be taken.

The check up includes height, weight, eye-sight.

A dental check-up is also conducted with regular follow-up where necessary.

In an emergency, the school has a tie-up with a fully equipped nursing home nearby.

Counseling

To meet these obligations our counselors keep abreast with available educational and career opportunities both in Nepal and overseas. To reinforce their knowledge and to give a global perspective, experts are periodically invited to guide the students. We recognize that over the last ten years there is an increasing competitiveness in most careers. Our pupils of today will hit the career market with a few years.

We therefore, through the judicious selection of subjects, try to train and tune them to face the competitive market that awaits them. To help them realize their dreams, we Endeavour to provide a curriculum with a difference. One that balances excellence in academics with in all-round cultural, physical and mental development, to make them into Ocean liners with Nepali anchors.
