LABORATORIES

We have state-of-the-art Science Labs, for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. The labs are equipped with audio-visual (AV) facilities to enable students to stay in touch with the latest developments in science and technology. Our labs have a separate reference section and computerized learning with internet facility.

The school is also working on building an integrated Science Activity Centre (SAC) for primary and middle school.

A major Science Exhibition is held by the students each year in August to showcase their discoveries and inventions. It is a culmination of the Science Month.

COMPUTER LABS  

We have well-equipped computer lab both for Junior and Senior wing, with fully updated computers. Internet connection is available through network.

Facilities also have been provided for theory classes and audiovisual presentation by teachers and guest speakers. Computer Science is an integral part of the Academic Curriculum and is compulsory for students from class 1 onwards.

All the teachers are trained to use computers through workshops conducted by DOTCOM COMPUTER and teachers are able to research, prepare worksheets and lesson-plans. Students are also encouraged to conduct research and create projects through this facility.

TEACHER'S ROLE

In our world of information technology where knowledge of the world is a button away the teachers' role has changed from a purveyor to a facilitator who guides the students in coping with the flood of information coming their way. Teaching them to analyze, to separate the relevant from the transient and to arrive at a synthesis. Most important to let them learn to think for themselves so that they can go through life making their own choices. In short, they learn to stand on their own feet.

The teachers of AIA share a relationship of love and trust with the children in their care. Reward and punishment are woven into the fabric of this relationship so that when either praise or censure is exercised, the student is conscious that it is fully deserved. Over a period of time, the pupil becomes his/her own monitor and explicit disciplining becomes less and less necessary.

Our well-qualified teachers keep themselves abreast with the winds of change blowing across the world. To add to their efforts, we undertake rigorous and regular Teacher Training Programs, under some of the best educational brains of the country.

Teachers' Day is a self-teaching day, when the Student Executive Council is empowered to teach all classes to the school for one whole day. There is a role reversal as teachers' turn ‘taught’ while children wear the teacher’s mantle.
